We Discussed How’s, Do’s & don’ts of the Video Station.
AG discussed in details with a PowerPoint presentation. Following we discussed video clip of “a 2 day old newborn with a headbox, features of lip smacking, eyes twitching, left are moving in rhythmic pattern with right arm immobile on the mattress.”
Each of the members took turns to identify the clinical signs and develop a differential diagnosis.
How to ask relevant ‘History’ questions was demonstrated and practiced following by ‘What would you like to examine?”
Management discussion was guided for how to present to secure maximum marks.
The Learning points are:
- Don’t ONLY look at the obvious
- Look beyond what is ‘jumping’ at your’
- Look at surroundings carefully also
- Develop a Differential diagnosis – NOT only ONE
- Questions need to be Framed carefully with lot of thought
- Be sure of how the information will help you in deciding
- Management – in Broad principals first.
- We did not cover Rapid Randoms today.
