22 minute station with expectation that candidate will be able to do one domain of development and take necessary history in 13 minutes. This is followed by 9 minute discussion with the examiner.

 

Observe the child from the moment you walk into the room!!

If you have seen child do ‘something’ – it should NOT be repeated.

While testing / interacting: ONE TOOL AT A TIME!

Do Not confuse / distract the child with too many options.

 

Questions to ask:

• Parents main concerns now.

• Age when concerns first noted?

• How parents are coping?

• What help is available to them?

• Education options for the child.

• What are parent’s expectations?
